PANELLED DOOR SETS

A matched pair of two flute cutters to produce panelled doors with the traditional style
cove and bead profile. The sets are available to produce either a 4mm or 6.5mm
tongue. They are sold in sets with the 4mm groove available in either 3/8" or 1/2" shank
and the 6.3mm groove in 1/2” shank only. The sets comprise a profile cutter, a scribe
cutter and two bearings. The 4mm groove set is intended for use on 22mm nominal
thickness timber, although this may be varied between 16 and 25mm, but with 16mm
only a bead will be produced (i.e. no cove). For the 6.5mm set the nominal thickness is
26mm and the range is 20 to 29mm.
The profile cutter is used to mould the profile on to the rails and stiles, and at the same
time cut a groove to accommodate the panelling which may be ply, solid fielded timber,
close boarding etc. The scribe cutter moulds the ends of the rails to produce a mating
profile to the stiles. This method of construction produces a strong joint with a long glue
line and allows doors to be produced very quickly and with good repetitive accuracy.
The cutters are suitable for machines with a power input of at least 750 watts.
These cutters are best used in conjunction with a router table, however they may be
used freehand with the help of jigs. The application sheet supplied with the cutters
details jigs and other set-up information to enable the rapid production of accurate joints.

IMPORTANT: These are large cutters and you should ensure that they are suitable for
use in your routing machine.
