‘T’ SLOTTERS

Two flute ‘T’ slot cutters for cutting slots in natural
and man-made boards. May be used for
machining clamping jigs etc. and for the production
of display wallboards.
To ensure free cutting and prevent chip build-up in
the slot, leading to overheating of the cutter, a
relief cut should be made which is slightly smaller
than the slot width (dimension “E”).

‘T’ SLOT – PILOT CUTTERS

These two flute ‘T’ slot cutters have the same dimensions as the T1560 series above,
however they have a plain pilot guide in place of the slot cutters (dimension “E”). This
ensures a stronger cutter allowing higher feed rates. Cutter number T1578-8 is specifically
designed for the commonly available 6mm SLOT BOLTS, which are useful in jig making.
When using ‘T’ slot cutters, it is important that a slot of the same width as the pilot
(dimension “E”) is cut first, then the ‘T’ slot is cut with the pilot following it.

KEYHOLE

These single flute TCT cutters can be used to produce a keyhole recess for
hanging frames, clocks etc. T1550 suits number 8 or 10 screw whilst T1552 is for
number 10 or 12 screw. The cutter is plunged into the workpiece, moved 14mm,
then reversed into the plunge position for withdrawal from the workpiece.
A two flute solid Tungstem Carbide version is available (T1554 – 8) offering superior performance
when cutting more than 14mm long T slots.
N.B. It is ALWAYS advisable to make a relief cut with a diameter equal to dimension F before
undercutting with the keyhole cutter. This will increase cutter life and help prevent overheating.
