PROFILE & SCRIBE COMBINATION BIT

This two flute cutter set produces moulded and scribed joints similar to
the reversible T4200 series. The advantage of this set is that both parts
of the joint are cut by simply adjusting the height of the cutter. This
removes the problems associated with re-arranging the components on
the arbor and the possible loss of shims etc. The set is available in 2
different profiles - Roman Ogee and Classical.
This method of construction produces a long glue line, giving a strong
yet rapid method of constructing doors/panelling etc. This cutter is
suitable for use in machines having a power output of 750 watts or
more and is available in 1/2’’ shank sizes only. The cutters are suitable
for use on timber between 18mm and 23mm in thickness.

These cutters need to be used in a table-mounted or
overhead router or similar. The table will need a back
fence and mitre slide to locate and hold the rails while
they are being scribed. The face of the back fence
shouldbealignedwiththeguidebearing onthecutter
which will ensure the correct depth of cut. The mitre
slide should be fitted with a timber face to act as a
support to prevent breakout while the rail is being
scribed. A backstop or other method of clamping

HINGE MORTISING

A two flute cutter especially suitable for hinge recessing and
shallow mortising. This design of bit is ideal for shallow
surface cutting when the recess extends from the edge of the
timber.
