Up-Down Shear Trim

Unique to and designed by Wealden, these compression shear trimmers have 2+2 blades, which allows them to down-shear cut on the top and up-shear cut on the bottom of the material being trimmed. This ensures a clean cut on both faces of the work and makes them especially suited to trimming veneered and faced boards.
The two bearing design allows the cutter to be used with the template mounted on either side of the work and, consequently, it is possible to cut from either direction using only one template and without moving the template to the other side of the workpiece.
A version of this cutter is available fitted with PCD (polycrystalline diamond) tips (TPD8179B-1/2). This cutter is suitable for trimming abrasive materials where the life of TC tipped cutters would be short.
